Commissioned for the Norfolk County Youth Orchestra in 2005 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, the work vividly depicts Nelson's life from childhood in Norfolk through death in battle to a funeral befitting the mythic hero he had become. A rousing and very moving piece. The sections of the work are titled: "Boyhood in Norfolk", "Dreams of distant shores", "To be a hero", "England expects that every man shall do his duty", "Engage the enemy more closely", "A hero now at rest" & "Those laurels ne'er shall fade".

Paul Lewis (1943-)
Paul Lewis (born 1943) is a British composer who was born in Brighton, England. Lewis began composing for television at age 20 and is best known today for his television music. It includes TV scores for dramatic series such as Arthur of the Britons and The Prisoner of Zenda, children's series such as Brendon Chase, Seal Morning and Woof! and comedies such as the celebrated Monty Python's Flying Circus and The Benny Hill Show. Lewis has also written music for films and the concert hall. He is a prolific composer of well-crafted tonal, melodic, romantic music.
