About this item
This beautiful, serene melody represents the ongoing and awesome legacy embedded in the profession of education. What we teach and pass on to our children affects the country, the world and the future. The hope, the responsibility and the wonder are effectively communicated in this lovely original work. Perhaps perform this in honor of a special teacher at your school or ask the audience to thankfully remember someone who has had a profound impact on their lives as they listen.

Composer
Barry Milner
I earned a Bachelor’s in Musical Composition and a Bachelor’s of Music Education from Morehead State University and a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Arkansas.
I taught four years in the public schools and am an avid composer/arranger of wind band and orchestral literature. Several of my works “In honor of the fallen”, “An Unending Legacy”, and “On Wings of Angels” “Atlantis: Lost City of the Ancients” for Symphonic/Concert Band are published with Alfred Publications. Many of my compositions have been performed by The Sacred Winds, The Central Kentucky Wind Ensemble, The Dallas Wind Symphony Brass Section and Percussion Section, The University of Arkansas Wind Symphony and the 2009 North Carolina All-State Top Honor Band in addition to honor bands across the country.
I recently presented a clinic on how to teach composition techniques to students and how to assess musical compositions at a In-Service Conference. I am the recipient of “Orpheus Award” for Orpheus and Eurydice in 2010 by Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. I was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda, a national honor music society, in May 2010. I was also inducted into Who’s Who amongst Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs in 2009-2010. I am a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) and a member of MENC.
I am currently teaching in Kentucky.
