About this item
Jan Ladislav Dussek was born in Bohemia in 1760 and died in Paris in 1812. His works include 18 piano concertos of which the third, in its rondo-finale, follows musical fashion by taking its theme from a popular song The Ploughboy, by William Shield (1748 - 1829), which had at that time attained the popularity of a folk-song. This arrangement is a slightly abbreviated version of the original, and the orchestral accompaniment has been amplified for modern orchestra.
Instrumentation
Solo piano Flute, Oboe, 2 Clarinets in Bb, Bassoon 2 Horns in F, 2 Trumpets in Bb, Trombone, Timpani Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello/Bass)
