Composer
Alberto Curci
Alberto Curci was an Italian violinist, composer, music publisher and violin pedagogue.
Curci, first violin student Angelo Fernis at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella di Napoli, came to Berlin in 1905 to complete his studies with Joseph Joachim as the basis for a concert career. Curci has since performed in the capitals of Europe and Asia. During the First World War, he returned to Italy and teached at the Conservatorio di Musica Vincenzo Bellini in Palermo and the Conservatory of Music Arrigo Boito in Parma. Then Francesco Cilea appointed him to violin teacher at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella di Napoli, whose director Alberto Curci was four decades. His students include Aldo Pavanelli, Angelo Gaudino and Renato Carosone.
