About this item

“Gallery of Images” contains 15 piano miniatures, dedicated to Ninov’s son Tony, for intermediate through early advanced pianists. These miniatures are imaginative, thought-provoking, and fun to perform. Ninov skillfully crafts his pieces to invoke deep musical emotion and feeling. “Gallery of Images” is an exceptional collection of creative pieces and an excellent music education tool for students of all ages.
We asked Ninov about this new and imaginative collection for intermediate and advanced pianists:

1. What inspirations did you have for composing the pieces in this album?

“I was inspired by the idea of evoking various images, situations, states of mind, and feelings through a colorful palette of sounds. Shall we call that “program music”? Certainly, as long as music without words is capable of depicting images”

2. How long did it take you to compose these pieces?

“Once I decided to compose this album, I was so carried away with the idea that musical images began to flow in my mind in an uninterrupted stream. Thus I composed Gallery of Images in one breath, so to speak, in a matter of two weeks.”

3. How do you think this book can be a benefit to piano students and teachers?

“Musicians of all ages will benefit from this book both intellectually and technically. This is a work of art that will inspire the performer to depict the character of each piece with a great taste and feeling. This inspired performance will naturally allow the musician to master a wide array of techniques related to rhythm, polyphony, harmony, and style. These technical challenges must obey the performer like the brush obeys the painter”

4. What are your dreams and hopes for this book?

“I believe that Gallery of Images is a unique album whose beauty to be spread worldwide and win the acclaim of millions of musicians!”
