About this item
With his "Spring" Vivaldi musically brings to sound what we associate with this season: chirping birds, babbling brooks, blooming meadows, a spirit of new beginnings. The piece is preceded by a poem, the verses of which are assigned reference letters, which in turn can be found within the musical text and give very concrete indications of what is intended to be expressed in the music at the respective point. Provided with the characteristic drive of Vivaldi's Allegro movements, the piece is one of the top hits of classical music.

Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741)
Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (4 March 1678 – 28 July 1741), nicknamed il Prete Rosso ("The Red Priest") because of his red hair, was an Italian Baroque composer, priest, and virtuoso violinist, born in Venice. Vivaldi is recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread over Europe. Vivaldi is known mainly for composing instrumental concertos, especially for the violin, as well as sacred choral works and over 40 operas.
