About this item
This Schools Version of The Snowman has been devised to make this popular work available to players at all levels.
The important feature is its flexability. Taking a piano duet as the nucleus, any combination and number of instruments may be added right up to the complete orchestration. Schools particularly will find this useful, as special parts have been incorporated for recorders and classroom percusion. Don't worry if you have some instruments missing, as the cueing system used in the partswill cover all the essential proficient players. Amateur orchestras may also prefer this version if they do not always have the resources to perform the original orchestration.
An alternative version, for SATB choir of the chart-topping hit single sung by Aled Jones "Walking in the Air" from The Snowman is also provided.

Howard Blake (1938-)
Howard Blake, OBE is an English composer (born 28 October 1938 in London), particularly noted for his film scores, although he is prolific in several fields of classical and light music. His most popular work includes music for The Bear and The Duellists but he receives most acclaim for the orchestral scores he provided for the 1980 film Flash Gordon and his highly successful work for the Channel 4 production The Snowman in 1982.
