The introduction imitates the sound of a train coming down the tracks. The piece maintains the same energy level throughout, and all parts are given interesting material. To help fill out the ensemble sound, the piano adds some color that does not appear in the string parts. Optional violin 3 (viola) part included. All aboard!

Les Taylor
Les Taylor studied at Ball State University, University of Maryland, and VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, where he now teaches jazz harmony and band arranging.
He has written and published music for symphonic, concert and marching band, jazz ensemble, string orchestra, and beginning band where his Real Music for Beginning Band series remains a popular, user-friendly, and fun group of pieces to play at the early grade levels.
