About this item

Schubert's Symphony in b minor, considered as a perfect masterpiece of early romanticism,  is with the present arrangement finally also playable for school and amateur ensembles.
Thanks to clever cuts and technical simplifications the instrumental balance as well as the original sound are saved. The piece can be played already with strings or - tonally very attractive - with brass alone, with following instruments are provided: C I / II (flute , flute 2 or oboe), B I / II (clarinets), B III / IV (Trp), F I / II (Horn, altern. Alt-Sax), C-bass I / II (trombone / tuba, bassoon). Furthermore cymbals, triangle, timpani and strings. Alternative voices are included in the voices folder.
The string parts (designated) are graded in difficulty, and even the 1st violins play only a few bars in the 3rd position. A particularly simple cello / bass voice will available soon for free, as well as more special parts.

Songlist (2)

  1. Allegro moderato
  2. Andante con moto

Composer
Franz Schubert (1797-1828)

Franz Peter Schubert (German pronunciation: [ˈfʁants ˈʃuːbɛɐ̯t]; 31 January 1797 – 19 November 1828) was an Austrian composer. Although he died at an early age, Schubert was tremendously prolific. He wrote some 600 Lieder, nine symphonies (including the famous "Unfinished Symphony"), liturgical music, operas, some incidental music, and a large body of chamber and solo piano music. Appreciation of his music during his lifetime was limited, but interest in Schubert's work increased dramatically in the decades following his death at the age of 31. Franz Liszt, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and Felix Mendelssohn, among others, discovered and championed his works in the 19th Century. Today, Schubert is admired as one of the leading exponents of the early Romantic era in music and he remains one of the most frequently performed composers.
