About this item
This famous aria from Madame Butterfly has been adapted so that it can be performed by a variety of solo instruments or a solo voice. The orchestration has been reduced slightly (piccolo, bass clarinet, cor anglais and harp have been omitted) and it has been transposed from the original key of Gb down a semitone into F, but otherwise this version is fairly faithful to Puccini's original score. Various solo instrumental parts are provided. A separate voice part is not provided; singers should use whatever edition of the opera vocal score or the aria that they have.

Composer
Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924)
Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini (22 December 1858 – 29 November 1924) was an Italian composer whose operas, including La bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, and Turandot, are among the most frequently performed in the standard repertoire. Some of his arias, such as "O mio babbino caro" from Gianni Schicchi, "Che gelida manina" from La bohème, and "Nessun dorma" from Turandot, have become part of popular culture.
