Kinley Lange (1950-)
Born in 1950, Kinley began his musical studies at home with his mother who is a retired music educator and still active as a choral director. His undergraduate and master's degrees are from the University of Hawaii where he studied music theory and composition with an emphasis in ethnomusicology. He continued graduate studies in composition and choral conducting at the University of Texas at Austin with Karl Korte and Morris Beachy.
For four years, Kinley was artistic director of Austin ProChorus, a professional choir which performs exclusively the music of living composers. His choral music is performed internationally and his choirs have toured extensively in the US and Europe. He is also very active as a composer, arranger and clinician within the traditions of contemplative worship, mysticism and meditation.
